This article discusses the application value of vacuum coating technology ( DLC coating technology )  in biological machinery and medical devices, including preparing super hydrophilic surface on dental implant by vacuum plasma oxidation technology to improve biocompatibility and initial stability, preparing carbon-based thin film by vacuum PVD coating technology to reduce friction coefficient and improve long-term success rate of implant system; Titanium oxide coating was prepared on cardiovascular stent by electron beam evaporation technology to improve biological activity.

Since the physical vapor deposition (PVD) technology entered the field of medical equipment in the late 1980s, it has been widely used to deposit wear-resistant films on various medical equipment, including orthopedic implants, electronic pacemakers, surgical instruments, dental appliances, oral instruments and cardiovascular stents. The value of PVD technology lies in that it can modify the surface properties of its equipment without changing the substrate properties and biomechanical functions.

Compare with other conventional methods(such as such as sol-gel, micro-arc oxidation, etc.), vacuum method is very clear and and can be close-loop control without be affected by outside enviornment. The research result show that  the surface prepared by vacuum coating technology has excellent wetting characteristics ,which can adsorption and expansion of cells and improve the behavior of implants implanted in vivo. Therefore, vacuum coating technology is an effective method to improve the therapeutic effect of medical devices, and has important application value in the surface design of medical devices.

Imformation, lift and nanotechnology will  lead the trend of the world science and technolgy development in the 21th century . After China enters the information age, it will inevitably meet the arrival of the era of biological science and technology. Biomechanics and medical devices are the intersection of mechanical engineering, manufacturing technology and life science and technology, and are new fields of modern manufacturing. In the past 10 years, the sales and export scale of China's medical device market has increased from US$ 4.751634 billion n in 2010 to US$12.917284 billion in 2019. Excluding the influence of price factors, it has increased nearly 3.8 times in the past 10 years. According to the sampling survey statistics of Medical Devices Branch of China Medical Materials Association, the annual export sales scale of China's medical devices market will reach 18.13811 billion US dollars in 2020, an increase of 71.22% over the previous year.

Surface engineering plays a very important role in the design, manufacture and use of medical devices. The performance of medical devices mainly depends on its composition and microstructure. Most medical device products fail or are damaged due to surface-related friction and wear, corrosion and oxidation, fatigue fracture, etc. Therefore, surface modification technology has been paid more and more attention.
