Some colleagues who know the vacuum industry know that the vacuum multi-arc ion plating machine coats different colors and uses different processes and target materials, such as common gun colors. We generally choose to use titanium target or chrome target. The color made by titanium target is old, the color made by chrome target is tender, and the black one is generally made by titanium target or chrome target.

What is the reason if the film fades? Many customers have asked me why there are black spots on the workpiece plating. Most of the reasons are that the early cleaning is not thorough. If it is fading, the first analysis is whether the process is correct, the second analysis is whether the pretreatment cleaning is thorough, whether the pure water value meets the standard requirements, and the third analysis is whether the vacuum furnace leaks. These are probably the three reasons. If the color changes, the first analysis is whether the product of the hanger is in the effective sputtering range, and the second analysis is whether the process should be adjusted.


Deplating this piece is also based on different processes, the size of bias voltage, and the colors plated by different target materials to analyze how to correctly deplated, and the colors plated by titanium target, such as gold: hydrogen peroxide plus caustic soda, etc.


The multi-arc cathode plating TIC on stainless steel by vacuum multi-arc ion plating machine can work stably at different currents according to different targets. For example, if it is a Cr target, it can work stably at about 60A, and the Ti target can work stably at about 70A. The arc current of Zr is slightly higher, about 100A, and the working voltage of the cathode is between 20v and 30v. When coating, for example, if you want to make TIC black film, you must choose TI target. The working current of Ti is 70A, and the working voltage is about 25V. C2H2 gas needs to be filled into the vacuum chamber, and the vacuum degree during coating should be kept at about 0.5Pa. Generally, these gases are pumped by molecular pump or diffusion pump to keep the vacuum chamber at a certain pressure. At this time, the slide valve pump and Roots pump act as the forepumps of molecular pump or diffusion pump, which are always on.
