The cleaning process requirements for pvd coating machines are a concern for many people, as the service life of the pvd coating machine and the quality of the coating layer are closely related to whether the pvd coating machine is properly cleaned in the later stages of use. So what is the cleaning process for pvd coating machines?

Before the vacuum process, the vacuum material should be cleaned to remove pollutants from the surface of the workpiece or system material; The surface cleaning treatment of vacuum components is also very necessary, as the gas and vapor sources caused by pollutants not only prevent the vacuum system from achieving the required vacuum degree. Moreover, the presence of pollutants can also affect the strength and sealing performance of vacuum component connections.
Pollutants can be defined as "any useless substance or energy", which can be divided into solid, gas, and liquid based on their physical state, and exist in the form of membranes or particles. From its chemical characteristics, it can be in an ionic or covalent state, and can be inorganic or organic.
Surfaces exposed to the air are most susceptible to pollution, and there are many sources of pollution. The initial pollution is usually a part of the formation process of the surface itself. Adsorption phenomena, chemical reactions, leaching and drying processes, mechanical treatments, and diffusion and segregation processes all increase the surface pollutants of various components. The vacuum coating processing factory stated that the common types of pollutants on the surface of vacuum materials are as follows:
1. Grease: lubricant, Cutting fluid, vacuum grease, etc. contaminated during processing, assembly and operation;
2. Acid, alkali, salt substances: residual substances during cleaning, hand sweat, minerals in water, etc;
3. Surface oxide: Surface oxide formed by long-term exposure of materials to air or moist air;
4. Water based: hand sweat during operation, water vapor during blowing, saliva, etc;
5. Polishing residues and dust and other organic matter in the ambient air.
The purpose of cleaning these pollutants is to improve the stability of the pvd coating machine and enable the work to proceed more smoothly. The cleaned surface can be divided into two categories according to requirements: atomic level clean surface and technically clean surface.

Before using the coating material in the pvd coating machine, simple surface cleaning of the coating material can extend the service life of the coating machine. Because various pollutants not only prevent the vacuum system from achieving the required vacuum degree, but also affect the strength and sealing performance of the vacuum component connections. The cleaning work in place in the early stage can reduce many troubles and avoid the occurrence of many small problems, which has a very positive effect on work efficiency and the coating quality of the pvd coating machine. It can greatly improve the working stability of all vessel walls and other component surfaces in the vacuum system under various working conditions.
